Im having the weirdest day
maybe not so much weird as comical in my mind. So i pick up my car from the convertible repair place down in north cuba, aka SW 184th and US 1, via the metro rail and the bus. a journey i took in reverse when i dropped the car off a few days ago. its a 2 hour round trip. anyway, so i go and get my car, as the rear glass was shattered. i pay my 550, and drive it home. figure, why not get an oil change since its been a while.
Jiffy Lube typically does ok for the mustang, and so i went there today. i went against my better judgement and got the cheap tire rotation. When it comes to Jiffy Lube, don’t let them do anything but change oil, and cross your fingers when they do that. So, luckily they did not cause the problem, but rather found the problem with my front tire wheel stems, the things that you put your lug nuts on. not good. so i have them patch me up so i can drive to my trusted Midas.
On the way, i hear some fantastic grinding and poping in that wheel, pull over and see that i still have a wheel and continue on. I now have the ABS light on in the car.
So Midas checks it over, and i need a new hub for the wheel, with nuts, and some new stems for one of the rear wheels that had a similar stem situation as the front wheel. do what you have to do, these guys have always treated me fair and have not lied to me yet. the bill was a nice graze to the nuts at another 550. the one guy offers to give me a ride home. I gather my stuff and realize that i don’t have my wedding ring on.
I start to laugh at the absurdity of my day, long travel, lots of paying of money for the car, car issues, lost ring. I figured that the day really cant get any more shitty. Not that i felt like i was having a shitty day, just really odd, like a set of bad luck dominoes were set off. So the guy drops me at the front gate and as i approach my front door, i realize that my house keys are in the car.
Fantastic.
Luckily i can go to the front office and get our spare keys. Things got better when i found my wedding ring on the computer desk. must have took it off last night and never even realized it. And the car should be good to go by the end of the day, and Liz can go pick up Kaia. So really, nothing truly bad has happened, just very eventful and expensive, like 1300 dollars expensive.
